Algae on BHM

Post by alank on Fri Sep 16, 2011 3:41 am

As far as I know, Bakki showers were invented to try and simulate a mountain stream. Japanese showers I have seen have algae or moss on them. My BHM is now covered with a thick layer of algae and has turned black.

Any reason this might be a problem?

I do intend to cover the shower as the Perspex lets light in , hence the algae, but does it matter really?

If I want to kill it, what should I use?

Certain Algal Species do turn Black Alan Twisted Evil

Blue/Green Cyanobacteria can turn very dark indeed and is a consequence of low Nitrate/Phosphate values .. The Red Alga`s frequently blacken too.

The `Black Brush` beard types are quite fuzzy rather than slimy in appearance ... does yours resemble any of these Question
