Koiclear Ozonated Gel

Post by Admin on Thu Sep 08, 2011 5:55 am

What is `Ozonated Gel` and how can one incorporate 03 Gas into a paste ?

Olive Oil (pure organic usually) reacts with Ozone/Oxygen Gas following prolonged exposure (3 weeks-ish) by bubbling the 03 through the liquid ... after several days/weeks the oil phoames Laughing becomes a Gel which is 95% as active as 03 Gas Shocked

Once opened the Gel must be refrigerated to prolong shelf life which is 10 yrs unlike some other topical treatments Smile and heals cuts, wounds, burns, ulcers, lesions and infections ... and has the added bonus of being waterproof too Cool

I used this on two of our koi. One was damaged after jumping out of the pond (new koi). It had a hole in its underside that I could fit the tip of my little finger into, it was about 1 mm deep and was "septic" looking. The wound was about a week old and the pond was in a bit of a state due to a bacterial bloom. The wound was cleaned after sedating the koi, gell applied and the koi was put straight back into the pond. I am very impressed with the results, the wound has healed and is barely visible after about 2 weeks.

The other koi had a purple patch where it was damaged when jumping constantly at a time when my pond level was dropped to 50% of the norm. One other koi had the same "wound" but that cleared up after a week or so. The koi was sedated and I pulled off 5 scales that were raised, the area was cleaned and the gel applied. I am not sure if this one was so successful as the koi flashed constantly and knocked some of the gel off. It does seem to be healing though, we will give it another couple of weeks.

Overall, I am very impressed with the product.

What I have done previously with loony tunes `Hannibal`who repeatedly flashed the Gel off Rolling Eyes was to gently net and bowl the Koi following the initial sedation / debriding and Koiclear application .. and smear follow up treatments on without further sedation ....

3 applications 5 days apart did the deed on both Hannibal and Mio .... Very Happy
