Spare Phish ?

Post by Admin on Wed Aug 03, 2011 12:17 am

I awoke yesterday morning to an `EXTRA` Lemon Goldie Mad

Having ruled out the incessant breeding as a likely culprit given the new addition is fully coloured (unlike regular Goldfish fry wild type black hues) someone must have added it Mad

I guess Scrapes are in order shortly Rolling Eyes

Oh that is terrible. You need to make a little sign about adding fish, if your pond is accessible. Let them know that they could be killing your existing fish by introducing parasites. How big is it?

It is around 3 inches Nancy ... fully coloured /markings etc and much too big to be any potential fry Shocked

This has never happened before and the WLP is netted scratch so either they risked it slipping through the holes in the net OR crept up to the only gap in one corner which is 2 meters from my front door Sweetie Mad

A warning sign might be in order for the force able Rolling Eyes

Post by Admin on Wed Aug 17, 2011 10:02 pm

Well Rolling Eyes Since several more (at least two that I have seen) have emerged Rolling Eyes Twould appear these are `Home Grown`given the smallest is just over an inch long and G-Fish Fry Wild colour Rolling Eyes

The Goldies are Skittish in this clip given I just netted/Gill snipped and returned the largest Lemon Babe.

Not even a sleeping/comotose or dead Parasite to be found anywhere on her Very Happy

Much better to be home grown, than someone throwing them in. I worry about that, too, even though my gate is locked, I have a fence with locking gates around the pond, and it's netted! You just never know when kids are going to go "yard hopping" and decide to do something stupid to the pond. Mad

One Member had a `PIKE`lobbed into his Pond Twisted Evil Twisted Evil so Netting /Walls and Fences are a must .. I agree Sweetie...

Due to the `HEAVY` Planting Nancy Shocked I am fearful of how many more will emerge FULLY Grown and Coloured affraid The Bullrushes alone occupy 1 third of the WLP Rolling Eyes Great Filtration Anoxic style BUT .... more Fry will survive Neutral

MORE SPARE PHISH !

Post by Admin on Tue Jul 08, 2014 11:04 am

Astonishing ... that these 4 (PLUS MAYBE) `Fry`have grown to 2 and a half inches despite the pond being (manually/mechanically) FED so little ....

I have observed however, from a distance the constant `FORAGING` of Plant/Pond Life Voraciously continuously in the interim  Very Happy

It`s ALL-IN-COMBINATION clearly doing it`s own thing O-NATURAL  I love you

Mores Spares !

Post by Admin on Tue Aug 26, 2014 11:10 am

Too date Very Happy 7 Spare fry have sufficiently `coloured up` from their `natural` black protective countenance, enough to be visually identifiable ... MORE might ensue ....

I am casually monitoring water quality whilst addressing the `urge` to PHEED these beautiful additions more than I had intended the `Anoxic` system to contend with ....

No Worries Hey ... X  when we can simply Keep on adding MORE-FRESH-WATER  ..  I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you
