Are Phish Sentient ?

Post by Admin on Tue Jun 07, 2011 9:59 pm

I am of the Opinion that Fish are indeed Sentient ... Many studies have concluded that fear/distress and PAIN? are experienced in Fish.

Hi Guys.

I wanted to discuss whether Fish feel `Pain`Distress and Fear having kept them for 17 yrs and encountering many instances of what I conclude has been evidence of `sentiency`in them.

To Illustrate?

My current Hospital Tank patient became tangled in a cover net I had foolishly spread loosely over one end of the vat whilst I vacuumed Rolling Eyes

I could not free her readily due to her thrashing in panic when I tried to Sad It took a good ten minutes to untangle the net which was literally inside her Gills.

Within an hour her eyes were protruding and she had ballooned in size Dropsy style.

Immediate medical intervention arrested the osmotic shock and she has made a reasonable recovery albeit not 100% Sad and still has a touch of Exophthalmia aka Popeye.
