I found a UK Seller of the JGP which is described as `Submersible` ? and 660 watts no less Shocked would that cost approx 6p per hour to run ? the Sequence flow rate has reduced to half since the rains ensued Rolling Eyes

I decided to bite-the-bullet and go ahead with purchasing the `Hailea` inline 20,000 lph pump whilst the sequence is being dissected Rolling Eyes

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310345436143?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_1950wt_905

Mods will need to be implemented re the plumbing situation from the RBD which is dire atm Embarassed

INTERESTINGLY ! ....the water clarity has improved significantly since flow from the `Sequence` diminished to 1 third it`s previous pumping output which could be due to much greater UV efficiency via flocculation /and or killing suspended Algae due to prolonged contact time now than previously.

The Hailea 20,000 from Tina should arrive during the week ...

Will it pump efficiently at just below water level please as in the diagram re plumbing RBD`s (with the exception that mine exits from the top .. not side as in the Aqua Art types) Guys OR ?

Hailea has arrived

Post by Admin on Wed Sep 21, 2011 7:30 am

Torrential rain prevented any hope of upgrading today Rolling Eyes

BUT Coastal Koi say they are impressed with the Hailea performance Smile

Sequence is much less expensive to run YET so difficult to keep primed via an RBD Twisted Evil

Ok I know this Thread has deviated `Hither and Yon` from it`s `Original` Title Embarassed BUT ? given my new found faith in `Hailea` Wink

Has anyone tried their fully waterproof `Air` Pumps yet ?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20-LT-AIR-PUMP-KOI-FISH-POND-TANK-FILTER-AQUARIUM-PKG-5-/400251555403?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PondsWaterFeatures_UK&hash=item5d30da0e4b#ht_4259wt_1185

I want to pump more air into the Goldie WLP now that it has a floating cover ...

Rain is pooling atop it causing sinking in patches ..

20 lpm will be sufficient.

They currently have one of these Arrow

Sorry I have not used any of the above items and although the name Tetra is probably a good one check the power rating of the first one. I made the big mistake of buying an air pump which looked a good bargain, it turned out to be too expensive to run. It also ddid not pump at any great depth. Watts for Airtech & Hiblow for 40lpm & 80lpm are 35 & 80 respctively. The duff ones I bought were double this power. You may find this helpfull however you might of checked already. There was a scare many yeras ago regarding aquatic air defusers being made from old tyres and were causing problems regarding leeching of unwanted chemicals into the water. However I doubt this would be the case with Tetra and there never was any proof. Hope this helps, best regards Dave

Thank you for your input Dave Very Happy

The Tetratec is Fab for the indoor tank but not very effective in the WLP.

The highest output on Tetratec is 400 LPH for 6 watts compared with the `Hailea` @ 1200 LPH for 15 watts and the `Hailea` Pump is waterproof which the Tetratec is not Very Happy That said it has survived all the storms during the last 3 months Very Happy

The Depth is only 24-30 inches in the Golfish Pond... and I`m reluctant to hammer the Pond Fund further by buying Medo Secoh etc .. as I have my eye on a couple of `Bargain` Gadgets&Gizmo`s` atm Wink

Nice one lets hope you get a good few years out of it. Just a matter of interest whats it like for getting spares for it.One of the diaframs on my hibllow 80 split together with the sacrificial pin ( prevemts motor ffrom burning out) there was no problem getting a pair of replacement diaphrams ( supplied by local dealer ) however the cost was nearly £40. In your case it might be just as cheap to replace the air pump all together
