New pump for bubblebead

Post by DaveB on Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:53 am

Hi All

I Have heard good reports regarding the Superfish pond eco plus range with high flow rates and low watts But was not sure about head.

http://www.absolute-koi.com/subcat1437.html

I Have been looking for a spare to replace my Oase eco 16000 on my BB3 and the Suprfish is half the price of a Oase eco 16000 I have just fitted the Superfish eco plus 20000 and what a cracking rate with low wattage( will check this tomorrow to see what it exactly is)Says exactly whats on the Tin, producing a higher flow than the Oase eco 16000 with just 30 to 40 watts more ( slightly lower head then the Oase so was a bit worried it wasn,t up to the job) but doing the job great. fantastic flow rate into my BB£ and TT.It is my intention to keep the Oase eco 16000 as an idetical spare for the pump on my main filtration or it can replace the eco 12000 on my skimmer too as it is physically the same size if required.I am now covered for most eventualities

Dave my Hailea eco-s 20,000 uses the same wattage as yours (see jebao pump thread)

I know several Members running the Superfish eco who are very happy with it though Very Happy

Er umm .... Sorry Dave Embarassed correction ...

The Hailea eco-s takes 310 watts .... not 210 so is more expensive to run than your `Superfish Eco` Sweetie ... I just found my old receipt from Tina for it > http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310345436143&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123#ht_1950wt_905

A couple of reasons why I also chose the Superfish pump, is they are 100% waterproof and can be used either in or out of water. So even if filter compartments get flood in heavy rains ( mine being below ground level sometimes does) Also the 3 year warrenty with a 48 hr exchange delivery service to the door ( hope I don,t need to use it though)

Also I was informed that the connections were the same for Oase eco16000 and Superfish 20000. but not so, they are the opposite way around ie 2" suction 1.5" discharge so it took the purchase of a few extra bits which did not come with the pump and an hour to sort it out. Only time will tell now how good they really are

The Hailea can be run inline too Dave external to the pond Very Happy

It`s been too cold to test how much power it is consuming but it is definitely 100 watts more than the Superfish eco ...

The flow rate is awesome though so phar ... and filling the return to the pond Very Happy
