Fish Surgery Tips !

Post by Admin on Fri Nov 04, 2011 2:51 am

Some very important and interesting tips re `Phish Surgery`Laughing I thought i`d share with you Guys are outlined here Arrow http://www3.carleton.ca/fecpl/fish_surgery.html

Namely that of not allowing Pond Water into any incision and keeping the fishes head tilted slightly downward.

I didn`t use a pump to recirculate anaesthesia during my recent attempt at aspirating fluid via an incision in the poor Koi Babe with the Tumour but did have an assistant flushing the Gills periodically with a reduced dose clove oil ... which interestingly is the secondary anaesthetic of choice by Fish Surgeons and Veterinarians.

Monofilament sutures also are preferred by up to 74%.
