That's why we are installing it Dave. Is the £100 saving per 1/4? We use about £100 per month now and would use a lot more with the heater on. Hopefully, we will use all that we generate for the maximum benefit.

Embarassed Sorry Dave ..

I meant `Quarter` and not monthly..

So £300 last quarter plus £100 reduced fuel bill is a fine return on your investment imo and why I will go ahead with the `Free` Install IF the Roofspace etc qualifies ... simply to reduce the quarterly Electricity bills.

If the company earn from every `unit` I use (if that is the case)then they will make a profit from my usage despite my use of all that is generated PLUS ...

This last Quarterly Bill is equivalent to previous `Winter`not Summer usage which reflects just how extortionate the latest hikes in utility prices have been ... and why the `Solar`Energy option among others will be the way to go whilst the F.I.T grant is available...

You need to sign in to your link Mio. I believe the rent a foof system is not subject to the 12 Dec deadline. This has infuriated installers who are blaming the free ones for the current situation. The big companies installing on council house roof's are making a killing.

The link is only opening in hotmail Alan for some strange reason ... and not on the `Money` saving Expert website .... similar article here >

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/utilities/2011/10/solar-subsidies-to-be-slashed-under-government-plans

Council houses if rented Alan don`t Qualify !

You have to own your own Home as I understand it ...

I thought the whole purpose of reducing the F.I.T payment was to stop enterprises like `Solar Farms` abusing it .... and that private individuals would continue reaping the rewards ? clearly that is not the case now...

Mio the installers will only make on what the panels produce & what is put back into the grid which won,t be much as you will be using most of it. The installer do not make anything on what you use. hoe this explains it

From what I can gather, councils are fitting them en mass to reap the rewards for their coffers.

All the Companies who have contacted me asked specifically IF I owned my own home Alan ...

Typical of the Council to climb on a money making bandwagon ....

I changed my hospital appointment as I needed to get my roof ready, and I have flu......

No panels available except Ubbink. They do a flat roof system at 4kw so I have settled for that, at the same price as the Sanyo system so I am being ripped off a little. Still at least its on order. He recons it will all be here next week.

I called `Ecovision` to see if a decision has been made following the `Survey` and they had not heard yet but told me that following the F.I.T reduction Debacle they have ceased offering `Free` Solar Panels as have BG and many others so if the decision is NO No I`m stumped Sad

On the other hand if the decision is YES ... They will F.I.T them prior to the reduction deadline .....

Dave the Renewable Energy Tariff might be available to individuals as well as businesses ???????

Perhaps you could apply for it IF it is separate from the F.I.T scheme ?

Heat Pumps qualify also I think ?

Yes Sweetie ..

It is `Whole House` Systems alone which Qualify ... It does work out cheaper though when running underfloor heating or `Radiators` etc ...

Do let us know what you unearth during your research Fest Dave Laughing
