I`m pleased with the win Dave because it has been Manufacturer refurbished and the buy it now was 250 and I won it for 100 Very Happy

It hasn`t been dispatched yet but 4-5 days is the norm.

By then I should have the other fittings from first direct who do next day delivery Sweetie.

We have a few days of `Indian Summer` type weather forecast which I hope lasts all next week. Very Happy

That's a good price and if it does what it says and self primes, you woes should be over.

Mio

I have always run mine under the water level . So can,t say for sure. Once you get it primed through the basket cover with a NRV in the suction line. I am fairly certain it will prime OK.It will be interesting to see what debre will collect in the basket once you get it running. Good Luck dave

Hi Mio

The inlets and outlets are the same, niether are standard sizes. That is why they supply the fittings. What I found worked was that a stardard 1.5 Solvent weld fitting bend, straight where the outside diameter is slightly larger will fit into these fittings. Otherwise yiou will have to find sleeves as with valtera slide vales to go over 1.5 S.W. pipe. Hope this helps Dave.

Here is a photo of a convered Answer pump which I keep for emergencies.

Hope this Helps Regards Dave

I could not add the one-way-valve to my 1st direct order the other day because it had already been despatched (24 hr delivery etc) which is fab if you don`t wish to ADD to your order as I did Rolling Eyes

SO in light of this Guys could a Valterra knife/gate valve act as a one-way-valve instead ... assuming they reduce from 2-1.5 inches.

Do they and would that work both ends of the pump ... ? Oh and are these pumps weather proof ... I had to cover the Sequence Rolling Eyes

Mio You will have to cover the pump to protect the motor. You might get away withou using a gate valve, however if not fit the gate valve at the water surface. After initially priming the system through the basket with the valve shut. Then try starting the pump a few seconds before opening the valve and it should pick up. Shut valve first before stopping the pump and it should not need priming. Hopefully you can fit a valve in an easy accesqable place and The koi won't damage themselves on it. best of luck.It is always a good idea to fit valves on either side of the pump especially if the pump is below the surface. However this is not the case with yourself. Regards Dave

The Lowara Pump has arrived Yippie !

Post by Admin on Wed Sep 28, 2011 9:48 pm

Ok the Lowara Pump is here Guys and looks brand new...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stepped-Solvent-Weld-Hosetail-Koi-ponds-Pumps-etc-/150625886454?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Garden_PondsWaterFeatures_UK&hash=item231200a0f6#ht_2189wt_1139

I`ve just finished ordering the 50mm pipe which will glue into a fitting from imperial to metric on the Inlet/Outlet of the pump.

I decided to buy the one-way non-return valve which reduces from 2-1.5 Rolling Eyes

They will all be here tomorrow ... hope it`s as Glorious a day as it is today Very Happy
